Wow, I've never heard of this series before and now I can't get enough!

Try again next time? But I just saw th final version of this and that was crap too, so maybe you should've just given up on this idea... Hopefully you'll learn from this mistake.
There was one merit, and that is that the characters look semi-decent, aside from the fact that their faces are eternally hard.

Um.... oddly enjoyable...?

I think the poem was excellent, even without the creepy background music or animations. And speaking of which, neither were very good and seemed more like props for the main attraction. In any case, it was overall a creepy, intellectual piece of work.
You could've done without the clown! We saw enough of that on Madness Day, dontchathink!? Just kidding, keep it up.

Regardless of what people say

This is very, very original. I think it's a good example of the kinds of things you can do with flash. The music was admittedly catchy. I don't like the whole PeeWee playhouse vibe that's goin' on, personally, but there were some funny moments. Still, this one is too much of an oddball for a full 10, but please keep it up; Newgrounds needs some more "All Audiences" that don't suck.

Ok, but there's a lot that needs to be done

Three things:
First, I must commend your effort. The animations are fun, and the end of the flash actually had some substance (in terms of story).
Second, the beginning of the story and the overall concept of Pit (of all people, why Pit?) throughout the flash (not gonna give everything away) just doesn't click with me.
And third, it was pretty short. Not that it needed to be long or anything, but I can't really hand you good points if you don't demonstrate more thoroughly.
All in all, it was okay, and not a bad animation at all.
